About Steven Schneider

Steven discovered at an early age that he had an aptitude for drawing and a joy for the creative process. Originally from Lake Charles, LA, his career as a graphic designer and illustrator ultimately evolved into one as a professional fine artist. Steven draws his inspiration from the natural world and has a deep appreciation for the outdoors and being immersed in its glory. “Painting grounds me and has been an integral part of my life for more than 50 years. It is my goal to engage the imagination of the viewer and give them a stimulating place to explore. I continue to experiment with different techniques and approaches and look for visual solutions that resonate with my core. My current work reflects the results of that study by accessing an abbreviated pictorial language which utilizes simplified forms and a varied chromatic dialogue. Specifically, simplifing shadow and light plane shapes and creating color and value relationships that work harmoniously together to tell a story and/or evoke a feeling.” Steven is represented by numerous galleries and his work can be seen and purchased there or at his home studio in Tupelo, MS.
