About Eric Pardue
Eric Pardue graduated with a BFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 1993. After graduation, he stayed in NY to apprentice with Jeff Shapiro. He currently resides in Milton, WV, where he maintains a studio practice and full-time work. His earthenware pots go through bisque, glaze, and finally decal firings in an electric kiln. The narratives that are built on the pots are from daily life. They may refer to a specific situation, a past experience, a song lyric, or a passage from a book. The pots immediately engage the viewer. It would be difficult not to associate personal or social history with the images Pardue presents.
